Today’s post is from Lori B. Rosen, who writes Spa’s Zodiac Therapy each month.![]()
According to myth, it is believed that the Fall Equinox is a time of balance, when “day and night” are equal. Many cultures celebrate this time with festivities and rituals:
- Higan is a week of Buddhist services observed in Japan during the September equinox. It is a time to remember ancestors’ and celebrate the spiritual movement from the world of suffering to the world of enlightment.
- In China the mid-autumn festival (Moon Festival) is celebrated around the time of the September equinox. Families travel far and near to celebrate together. Dragon dances are performed and offerings are made to honor the moon.
- Mythical creatures associated with the fall equinox: gnomes, mintaurs, and the sphinx.
Tuesday 9/22: Moon in Scorpio + Fall Equinox = Lunar Magic! Scorpio’s moon combined with the Equinox allows us time to delve deep and penetrate our inner psyche. Let’s collectively use this powerful vibration to meditate and reflect on what we want to hold on to and what we need to release. Now that we have reevaluated our visions and dreams, the time is ripe for planting our seeds of hope, passion, and devotion.
Thursday 9/24: Sagittarius Moon gallops in bringing favorable energy for travel plans, sport activities, and outdoor adventures. Word of caution to all Sags, please be super mindful not push the envelope and know when to say Whoa!
Saturday 9/26: Moon in Capricorn. Use this motivational moon to set long term financial plans, create your 2010 budget, or complete your “to do” list. Remember, your point of power is now.
I like to think that the moon is there even if I am not looking at it. —Albert Einstein
