Moon Therapy: Lunar Cycles 101
Today’s post is from Lori B. Rosen, who writes Spa’s Zodiac Therapy each month.![]()
When the moon is full we all seem to take notice; we can look up and see her in all her magnificence. This vibration tends to bring intensity to our behavior and emotions. How many times have you said “It must be a full moon?” By tuning into sister moon’s natural energy cycles we can consciously create/restore harmony and balance to our inner-guru, which can assist us in managing the people/projects in our lives.
The moon spends approximately two and half days in each Zodiac sign; therefore, if the moon is in Capricorn (for example) then she reflects Cappy’s energy. If you happen to be a Capricorn, then you receive a double dose of sister moon’s vibration, and so it goes for all the other zodiac signs. I like to call these days “Power Days.”
New Moon/Dark Moon: Initiates the endings and beginnings of the lunar cycles. This is a fantastic energy to 1) Retreat. Reflect. Re-focus 2) Plan new projects 3) Journal or visualize goals/wishes 4) Meditate.
Waxing Moon: Is the period of the first half of the month/ between the new and full moon. This moon phase promotes growth. Make use of this time to 1) Launch new projects at home or workplace. 2) Network/Socialize 3) Start a new business venture 4) Enjoy garden activities; planting new seeds/bushes/flowers 5) Focus on creative/artistic expression.
Full Moon: Appears approximately mid-month, two weeks after the new moon. The full moon brings fruition to your visions and goals. Take full advantage of this lunar phase to; 1) Celebrate/Entertain with friends and family 2) Harmonize and balance your inner guru 3) Express gratitude for all you have accomplished in your life 4) Perform rituals and ceremonies (drum circle, prayer, or dream-work).
Waning Moon: One week after the full moon. This is an advantageous energy for de-cluttering your life 1) Begin your diet/exercise program 2) Organize/clean closets, cabinets, and garages 3) Take care of financial obligations 4) Release people/projects that no longer serve you 5) Make home/business repairs.

Thursday 10/01: Pisces Moon slips in ushering in a tranquil vibration. Attune your soul with this peaceful energy to gain clarity and inner peace through prayer/meditation or dream work. Caution Pisces children: Brace yourselves for over-sensitivity and escapist tendencies during your moon.
Sunday 10/4: Harvest Moon/ Full Moon in Aries! Draw on this exciting energy to ignite your inner superhero. Our mission, if we choose to accept it, is to make a difference in our communities through service, initiation, and compassion.
Oh, Shine on, shine on, harvest moon
Up in the sky;
I ain’t had no lovin’
Since January, April, June or July.
Snow time ain’t no time to stay
Outdoors and spoon;
So shine on, shine on, harvest moon,
For me and my gal.
